It has now been confirmed that the Police and Crime Commissioner elections will take place on Thursday 6 May 2021. We will therefore be sending all known candidates regular brief updates until the election to outline the current work of the office and to keep you informed of any new developments.

Independent Custody Visiting Association (ICVA)

The ICVA will be holding a briefing for PCC candidates from 16:00-17:00 on 20 April, where they will provide information on what an independent custody visiting (ICV) scheme is, PCC duties and important areas of work. The meeting will be via Teams. Please email info@icva.org.uk if you would like to attend.
The National Crime Agency (NCA)
The National Crime Agency would like to invite prospective candidates to a virtual briefing event hosted by Dame Lynne Owens, DG NCA. The event will be held via MS Teams on Wednesday 28th April 16:00-17:30hrs and will focus on the nature and scale of the threat posed by serious and organised crime (SOC) to your local communities.
The agenda for the session will cover:

How the NCA works collaboratively with police forces and PCCs to tackle the SOC threat;

Findings from the National Strategic Assessment of Serious and Organised Crime 2021;

Case Study of an operation to disrupt an organised crime group; and
-
A question and answer session where you can put your queries to senior leaders of the NCA.
